His books and articles on Art Nouveau, Symbolism, and other art movements of the fin-de-siècle helped bring about a revival of interest in the period. These include the biography Robert de Montesquiou (), Prince of Aesthetes (), Esthétes et Magiciens () translated as Dreamers of Decadence (), Les Symbolistes (), and The Genre: Biography, fiction, art history, autobiography. Philippe Jullian is the author of Dreamers of Decadence ( avg rating, ratings, 14 reviews, published ), The Symbolists ( avg rating, 42 r /5. Unlike his book Dreamers of Decadence, in this volume almost all the artists and works mentioned in the text are illustrated.
